Pregnancy #2 Week 24

Symptoms & Weight: This week the symptoms have basically stayed the same for me. The main kicker in my butt is the insomnia. As it seems to cause the exhaustion and irritability I then experience during the day. Weight hasn't changed from last week yet.

I admit to feeling bummed in this pregnancy at times. I lost 60lbs after having Patrick, our first, and although that seems exciting to many I am smaller than I was with him so the super obvious cute bump I had with him I don't feel as much. Tomek disagrees and says I showed earlier this time than with Patrick. It may just be I feel so weird just being in smaller sizes than I was even when I wasn't pregnant with Patrick. My clothes are all loose and comfy but not cute on my bump like before.

Big Brother: First bleeding moment

I don't even know the words to explain how much my heart hurt when this happened! Your big brother is running around now like crazy and sadly that means the occassional bump or scratch. Well yesterday he really did a number as he face planted on the not so soft ceramic commercial grade wood tile we have (the only time I have regretted this floor). He busted open the inside of him mouth pretty good and blood was all over him. I washed it but it just kept coming out. I was so anxious I sent a picture to your daddy and called him and he calmed me down and had me do it again. Thankfully big brother was okay but that picture still haunts me in my camera roll. I want to delete it but also it was a first for me so I haven't yet. Not posting here, too graphic.

Momom's Goodbye to Blu:

About a month before your big brother was due I got some hard news. My vision had decreased (I was already legally blind) to the point that I was no longer considered safe to drive. If I attempted to drive you or your brother it would be child endangerment and I would lose you both. Of course I immediately stopped driving then. I think I held onto my car as hope but the excuse was it was a backup car (even though we also had your dad's car as a backup to the van we had).

Well this week we said goodbye to my trusty blue Kia Rio I had most affectionately named "Blu." So with no one in the car (technically you in utero) I drove one last lap around the empty quiet neighborhood drive (not a main street) and blasted The Greatest Showman "This is Me" song while belting it out all the way back home.

Don't worry my "Hedwig" got to stay with me though!

Dziadzio's Birthday:

October and November are always hard months to not think of dziadzio. Today was his birthday. Hubby and I have talked many times about it though and we couldn't be happier of the way he left this world. In his sleep, in his own home, loved. He passed exactly the way he wanted. My husband is at peace because of that and I try to be but I am selfish too. I wish I had more than just the 5 years I had with him. He shined so much light on me and taught me so much I just struggle these months missing him dearly. So today on his birthday, I bundled up Patrick and we sat at the far end of the front porch on his bench and stared out over our court as I did so many times with him.

Park Walk: It's that time of year and I think this will be our last park walk. You seem to love or hate our park walks. I'm not sure but you move like crazy when we go. Your brother had a great time as it was his first time going when he was actually walking around. I spent nearly an hour cleaning up trash and things out of the park but that's because I respect it and it will be the park both of you are able to go to easily as you grow up so I do what I can for it to continue to be a source of fun and play for you and other littles!

Project: Shed Painting

Would it even be a pregnancy without a project needing to be done? This week before the weather gets too crazy outside we needed to get our shed painted. Now pre-pregnancy I was going to do it with hubs because I love painting but that kind of went out the window. Therefore, we hired someone and they did a great job. We went to the store and picked out a color....they name these paint chips like nail polish. We were torn between ferrari red and flirt alert. Initially I suggested the later as a joke...well here we are with a flirt alert shed/work room and we actually both love it!

My view from inside (Chickens and their run, coop, and the soon to be red shed/barn)

(They were still finishing so ignore the mess)

Waterman's Pumpkin Patch with Friends

We had such a great day with friends! This may have been the first time I felt like the actually prepared mom (thank you to my husband who helped by actually making the sandwiches) as we were able to go as a family, coupons in hand for our adult discounts you and your brother were free of course, and had food with us so we didn't have to worry about buying from vendors. Not only that but I brought a container of apple cider for the full effect!

We all had a blast taking pictures together (our friend may have us women rightfully tagged with "momma-razzi." Watching the dads do things that made the moms cringe for a second, and watching the kids enjoy each other together!

This was truly a great way to round out our 24 weeks pregnant family adventure!
