Welcome back to another pregnancy story from our family!

Ok last mention of vasectomy starting now...

My amazing hubby knew how rough hormones are on me and he decided he would get a vasectomy. He had one done in May (Thank you mister wonderful!).

Oh so he didn't do the follow up?

Yes he did! In July he did the follow up check and was given the all clear! Woohoo!!

However, we apparently conceived despite this all clear the first week of September.

After a random light spotting for a day or two in September I just figured breastfeeding was still throwing things off.

October rolled around with just 1 day of light spotting and I went to breastfeed Colin like every other day and it hurt. I instantly thought of when I was pregnant with Colin and nursing Patrick (that was my first clue with him too).

I disregarded it at first but finally the beginning of November decided to take the 1 pregnancy test I had left under the counter. Pink first response. Immediately positive. No way?!? So then when I go to the grocery store I go ahead and throw a box of Clear Blue in the cart thanking God Tomek isn't in there with me to wonder what the heck I am thinking.

The next morning I do both tests...both positive. 3 positive tests!! Oh Lord. I call my OB office and tell them I am overdue for my annual exam and would like to schedule it. Then in passing say also side note what are the odds that three pregnancy tests are wrong...since my husband just had a vasectomy. Needless to say they said whoa back track and scheduled our first baby appointment instead. I hadn't even told Tomek yet!!

They ran through the checklist of symptoms....Breast tenderness, nausea, vomiting, implantation bleeding, migraines, dizziness...yep you're pregnant! But? HOW?!

I sit on this information for 5 days truthfully. I was just in shock. What do I say to Tomek. How will he take it. We just wanted two. 3? Thats an odd number. I really didn't want that. Maybe he will be ok with 4 then. Oh lord how would I take care of 4 kids...how will I manage these 3?!

November 13th I decide I will tell him. I put the stupid pee sticks in a bag with a onesie that was Colin's that said "New to the Crew" on it since I didn't have time outside of caring for the boys all day/week and the whole being homebound thing.

Then Tomek messages that his friend John wants to hang out that night. I realize that is a golden opportunity for me. I had been craving McDonald's tea all week and asked if he could just drop that off and then go. So he was gone until around 1am. Which gave me enough time with the boys asleep to make him a pyrography gift instead of gross pee sticks.

So, November 14th 730am ask Tomek to look at ornament I made...it said, "We said 2 and done...and God laughed. Baby #3 due July 2021"

His immediate response was, "Jesus Christ you are kidding me right?"

I laughed awkwardly...no. no I'm not baby. Lol 💕 With both our boys we enjoyed weeks of knowing we were pregnant before telling anyone. But we initially estimated I was due July 23rd and so we shared with close family and friends that day and social media the next.

(This was our initial announcement but I redid the due date once we realized it was June not July 2021).

I believe this is why when Thanksgiving rolled around we were still awkwardly thanking people who congratulated us on baby #3.

Needless to say we are filled with such joy about our adventure but in shock too and that may take some time to wear off.
