This week, 1 day shy of 10 weeks according to our LMP, we had our first ultrasound. I was uncertain about the date of conception to begin with as I was pretty sure the day we conceived exactly as I track all of that on my phone. Well no surprise then when we do the ultrasound and find out we are actually 7 weeks and 1 day! So our estimated due date is in fact not January but rather the beginning of February. I expressed that I knew it was originally wrong and they asked how and I stated I had a 41 day cycle (LMP is based off of the average 28 day cycle).

Anyway Patrick went with us and the three of us got to see baby B or baby bowtruckle as we keep saying. I am starting this pregnancy 60lbs lighter (I lost 60lbs after having Patrick, I gained 15lbs with him. So technically 45 pounds less than where I started my first pregnancy). Baby bowtruckle has a great heartbeat of 170bpm (for those curious Patrick had 180bpm at this stage). Having some rough morning sickness with this baby just like I did with Patrick as well.

Our 7w1d Ultrasound (initially thought to be 10w)

Cravings basically caused me to cave and no longer be vegan as I've desperately craved meat since I've been pregnant. I may be vegan again after I am not sure but during I am eating whatever my body allows me to. I can't do sweets again and find my strongest desire to be McDonald's for some reason. Like Patrick I also crave potatoes and burritos but gone are the days of craving vegetables (dang that was a great craving round 1 lol).

We both are still shocked that we ended up testing and finding out we were pregnant at what we initially thought was 6w1d but was really only 3 weeks into our pregnancy. We have decided to announce to family and friends sooner than we did with Patrick but mostly out of convenience to share in person as much as we can. On July 1st we are going to share the above picture as our social media announcement.

So that's a wrap for this week of our journey. I will say I won't be doing a weekly post like I did with Patrick partially because I am trying to keep up with him while dealing with morning sickness and exhaustion but also I rather check in during each trimester or when something important comes up than every week. I want to enjoy these fleeting baby moments with Patrick as we prepare for toddlerhood and a second baby as well. So bare with us, we will still give updates on baby bowtruckle as they arrive.
