Halfway Through with Baby #2

Hello again everyone! We are 22 weeks pregnant today. Update on me is that I am feeling better than before but still experiencing migraines occasionally, the nausea and vomiting was gone for a few weeks but seems to be back this week, I definitely feel more emotional than I was with Patrick but I believe that may be in part to my most difficult pregnancy symptom which is pregnancy insomnia!
All that said let's get to why you are really here...Are we having a baby boy or girl?
We had our 20 week ultrasound and it went very well. Baby was more than willing to share with us boy or girl. heehee. We measured 2 weeks ahead in our anatomy scan and baby was 14oz. Baby had a heart rate of 149bpm (for those comparing Patrick was 164bpm) and baby bowtruckle was head down. We were quite lucky to get this appointment still because the ventilation was broken at the hospital that day. We managed to get in at 8am and because we were already there and the first appointment of the morning we were able to keep the ultrasound appointment even though all others for the day were cancelled! Even our regular OB appointment that immediately followed was cancelled.
Many were quite fascinated with the idea of the old wives tales and so below is ours for baby bowtruckle. We had a 4 boy to 5 girl. I honestly searched for another wives tale to just make it an even split to mess with people but the only other one I saw (emotional/moody or not also meant girl so it wouldn't have helped the split and I don't think people need to judge whether or not I am moody or not -- always a weird wives tale to me).

So after reading the wives tales we did a really neat smoke sticks/bombs reveal inside a pumpkin that we carved hearts out of. We had so much fun doing these pumpkins I have to share these two pictures first because my heart! Patrick helped with taking the insides out! It was so cute. He enjoyed it, didn't quite know what to think about the texture, but it didn't stop him trying to dig all the way to the bottom. heehee.

The other picture is these super adorable "baby" pumpkins we were able to make using old pacifiers of Patrick's (yes he had a pink one and a blue one...they were cheaper...I am realistic and don't believe colors belong to one gender!)

That said yes blue was boy and pink was girl. We made these super cute pumpkins though seriously that bow took us way too long. heehee. So here's our surprise setup. Yep that was a big kicker all the people who were coming to our home had no idea we were going to reveal our baby b!

We were so excited to do this announcement this way and shock our family even more! heehee.
The big reveal...

We truly are so THRILLED to be having baby boy #2 join our family in the new year! We also did a name reveal and shared baby Patrick will be joined by little Colin! It was such a fun surprise with everyone sharing this moment as everyone (I think 3 people said boy!) declared we were clearly having a girl this round. Not it, heehee. Baby Colin is seriously the sweetest little guy but already a stinker to his big brother. When Patrick lays on me Colin will start kicking like crazy. I think it is friendly (maybe) as Patrick loves to hold his hand on my belly where Colin is as well!
