24 Weeks:
Symptoms: Cramping, headaches (I believe these migraines are due to allergies though), sore breasts (yeah that has been regular since 4 weeks haha), constant peeing, fatigue, insomnia, back/neck/hip pain!
Weight: This week I am just under 6 lbs gained from my pre-pregnancy weight. I am starting to exercise (going for walks and prenatal yoga) more frequently just in the hopes that I don’t gain too much weight by the end.
Pants: So this was technically the day before 24 weeks but close enough. I had 2 pairs of maternity jeans that were just too long and flared A LOT that I didn’t think I would be able to wear in this summer weather anyway and so I shared them with momma Anne who pulled her awesome magic off yet again! She hemmed both of them to be just above my knees. :) I love these shorts so much!

Appointment: We started this week out with another pregnancy check-up appointment. I was weighed in nearing 6 lbs gained from pre-pregnancy weight, my regular tests came back all great, and my blood pressure was still better than before pregnancy 109/70. Last week was the first time I experienced any type of cramping and it was only occurring when I lifted heavier things. I reported this to my OB though I knew it was nothing and she said just make sure I am not feeling all over pressure every 5 minutes (AKA braxton hicks or contractions). We had some fun talking about HP (she went to HP world in Florida with her daughter for Spring Break….I can’t wait to go back!!)
Open House: This week was my friend Sarah’s open house, I told you about her in a previous week. She graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and received honors in both Psychology and Spanish. What an inspiring young lady. We went to her open house and had such a hoot finding a gift for her. We ended up getting her a book that was a spin-off of “Oh the Places You Will Go” entitled “Oh the Sh*T You Don’t Know.”

A funny moment as soon as we arrived that I heard was Sarah walking out to make sure I got up the stairs okay (not due to pregnancy, but because I am legally blind and sometimes I miss things), however, our other friend (her sister-in-law) Mere, was like, “She’s not that pregnant” and “You didn’t try to help me up the stairs.” It was quite a funny start since Mere and I are both pregnant, 2 days apart actually, and Sarah wasn’t doing it because I am pregnant. (Fun story: the main reason is because of moments like when I went to her house and thought I could take the stairs myself and ended up walking through the garden at the bottom and almost tripping over a gnome). Gabe and Mere had their little girl, Elowen, with them and she was definitely some of the cutest entertainment there. We had so much fun playing with her. Eventually I had to leave just because I was starting to feel a little sick (and I don’t do that in public). But we got this cute snap of us, Sarah, and Momma Anne before we left. :)

Exercise: I have been, especially since I have started gaining weight, going on walks regularly. I do most of these walks with our pup, Maggie, but one day this week was special where Tomek took me downtown and we went for a walk for about an hour and 45 minutes. We stopped and got some food and drinks at a place on the canal and it was so yummy!

And when we got home the fun didn’t stop...we went outside played with our pup, and Tomek even made himself a Mojito with the mint and lemon balm from our garden. :)

Fencing: We have been planning for a privacy fence all summer, and thinking about doing it since our big move here. So...We got our stuff figured out to continue our plans for our privacy fence at our home. We needed to get this for so many reasons (we do live in our own home but the neighbors, even though we all have yards, are still very close). We knew we needed it done because a neighbor has some rescue dogs that aren’t safe and another neighbor has some dogs that aren’t exactly getting along with ours, and she fears hers will jump our current fence, so we are getting a 6 footer. This will be great for not only protecting our dog and future baby from other dogs, but will also offer us the privacy we both would like when we go out and eat on our outside patio. So we are very excited to be getting that up the end of June, with all of our family and friend helpers!
I ended this week and going into the 25th week actually being unable to eat almost anything, cramping, and for truly the first time in my life feeling what constipation was like. More on all of that in week 25 but it definitely made the end of the week more rough.
I also had a headache the last 2 days of this week that just won’t go away, as I still am experiencing it as I type to you at the start of week 25. I just keep telling myself my little guy will be totally worth all of this, and honestly it isn’t that bad. I can handle this! I will say my headaches were so bad I was so frustrated with summer. I hate the cold, so I really hate winter, but the 1 thing that really sucks about summer...constant lawn mowing!! Literally it is everyday. Now I may not be used to this since I am from the country and lived in the middle of nowhere. My family would mow and then you may hear the neighbor once in a while. NOT every single day though! Haha. With that constant headache mowing was definitely my biggest complaint of this week, which when you put it into perspective...not that bad eh! :)
