Baby Freebies and Boxes

This is a must have blog post by so many expecting moms! So let's dive in....
First off let me tell you, there are so many options out there for free baby and mom items. Each state and even each country probably has different offers so definitely look into what is available to you. In the following I will explain what I received in each box or how I got the items and what I may have had to do or spend to get it.
Amazon Prime Box
This box was definitely one of the best that we got. To qualify for this box you do have to have Amazon Prime. Then create a registry, and complete the checklist of items on the registry, once you have done this you have to buy one $5 minimum item off of your registry. Wait for the item to arrive and then you will qualify for the free box and they will ship it to you. I did this on 2 family members accounts plus my own (consider family members that aren’t going to be having a baby and ask if they would be willing to do this for you). This was actually quite interesting to do so we could see the consistency of what was in the box. I will say there is a huge difference in the time of year you do it. I actually did mine back in late December 2016 before we were even trying to conceive just because I was told the earlier the nicer the box (and their start of the boxes starts January but orders in December normally get January boxes!) and I knew we planned on trying mid year 2017 (sidenote we ended up starting later because I chose to go on a family girls trip out of country and we didn’t want me pregnant there).
So here is my first box that I did end of December 2016 on my own account…

Basically: 1) swaddle blanket, pampers carrier with wipes and diaper, breast pads, avent bottle, ducky sleep sack, giraffe toy, full pack wipes, lotion, granola bar, aqaufor sample, and goddess garden sample. Plus not pictured were random coupons. The best being the pampers I used.
Box #2 was done under a family members account early January 2017 and you can see the boxes are almost exactly the same (No big pack of baby wipes, granola bar) We received a different toy, a blue penguin sleep sack, and some different samples.

However the big difference was noted with box 3 that was ordered in March 2017 again by a family member with prime (when you ask them if you can do it under their account just remember to offer to go through the hassle of the registry stuff yourself). So as you can see below box 3 did come with the baby wipes, swaddle blanket, pampers carrier with wipes and diaper, and avent bottle (Big items) but there was no toy and no sleep sack which were definitely two very nice items in the first 2 boxes. So we saw how the tiny samples increased the later we waited and the big nice stuff decreased. (Also the wipes in this box were defective in opening (but we will just put them in something else and they will be fine).

Honest Company
So the Honest Co. is definitely a little more tricky but you can still get your freebies! What we did was go to the website and “order” the two different free trial kits. One is the diaper and wipe kit and the other is the shampoo+body wash kit. You do agree to a subscription with this order and submit your card. However, the trial and shipping is all free. Once it arrives on your doorstep go to your account and cancel your subscription, I wasn’t charged anything at all and didn’t have to continue. I may resubscribe in the future but I unsubscribed since I don’t have a baby here yet and do want to test out the products first. I also might add that if you like the free trials you don’t have to order them just through the site as they are sold at Walmart too (I just saw this today! How great!!)

(Yep that top diaper has skulls on it, the trial comes with an array of different patterns on the diapers).
Everyday Family
Everyday family is just a sign up and agreeing to receive emails from them. This also allows you the opportunity to get free samples and cool items in the mail. So these are the items we have received so far: We received the milestone stickers in a welcome letter that are super cute (not months but like I just crawled, walked, etc.) and then the other items: pack of diapers, pack of wipes, prenatal vitamins (2 packs of 2), granola bar, goddess lotion, and a 4 pack sample of baby nutrients.

Target
To receive these gifts pictured below I signed up for a Target registry. Once I completed this I received an email that stated I could get my Target Baby Welcome Bag. So I went into my nearest target (yes you must go get it yourself). We received coupons, samples for lotions, stretch mark cream, pumping, baby body wash and then bigger items including: Avent bottle, Pampers travel case with wipes and a diaper inside, Nuk pacifier, MAM pacifier, Honest Co. diapers, and Baby-Ganics diapers

Walmart
To receive the Walmart baby gift box you provide information like when your due date is, if you know the gender of your baby, etc. A registry isn’t even required. However, we paid $3 for the shipping to get the free box. Some say you can pick up the box, so I would definitely check that first, but my walmart doesn’t offer the box that way. Some have also paid up to $6 for the shipping so I think that also varies where you are coming from. This is the box we received… Items include baby wash sample, oatmeal sample, lotions, tums sample, breast pad sample, quite a few coupons, huggies trial wipes, sample pack of travel wipes, Pampers case with wipes and a diaper, an Avent pacifier, and an Avent bottle (smaller than the ones we received in other boxes). Noting that a 2pk of those bottles would be $12 and the pacifier ranges from $3-$4 a piece, these 2 items alone do make the shipping cost worth it. And coupons like $5 off any Huggies wipes or diapers and a free Shutterfly 8x8 photo book one can see the appeal, in my mind, of spending the little bit required on shipping.

Babylist
I joined the babylist website and created a registry. Once you add items to your registry from them AND items from outside sources such as amazon, you will receive an email that says your box has shipped. So again a double up opportunity I really liked the idea of the twist bottle for breast milk that you can directly add the bag to the outerform. Because of this I had my MIL also register for a box and had it delivered to her house just so we could have 2 of these items. The box also included: disposable breast pads, milestone cards, 2 $50 babysitter gift cards, coupon book, and then these tiny little cards to put in your baby shower invitations if you are using the babylist registry, pampers travel bag (this one bigger than the previous but still containing a pack of wipes and a diaper), and a baby cetaphil pack including lotion, body wash, shampoo, ointment.

Similac Family
When you join the Similac family you will receive free samples and coupons. We received the 3 cans of similac formula and a coupon (from a different box) that made the bigger can just over a $1! Now we do plan on breastfeeding, however, we can’t guarantee every situation. If we don’t use them it is only a $1 loss that we can just give to family/friends.

Breastfeeding Class
I highly recommend taking classes to learn more about breastfeeding ahead of time especially, as well as safe sleeping techniques, CPR/First Aid for baby, and first time parenting classes. We have yet to complete some of these classes (we are registered but they take a while to get into, so plan ahead). However, we did participate in a free breastfeeding class which provided: paper information packets, coupons for pumps/pads etc, two free burp clothes, a very helpful little keychain with breastfeeding info on cards attached, and 2 free swaddle blankets. I apologize I don’t have a picture of these items or have them included in my mass photo.
Families First for Indiana
If you are willing to have them into your house for a free consultation whether you are eligible for their services or not they will bring this free gift which includes a free pack of diapers, samples, and such. (I will edit this post on Wednesday to include a picture of what they provided after they leave!)

So not including what we will add in from Families First this is a photo of all of the stuff we have gotten.
